This live course is designed to help Year 5 students develop and consolidate their skills in a relaxed, educational, fun environment. Live sessions are from 10.00-12.00 each day.
The Grammar Crammer is a fairly intensive course that assumes your child is aware of key question types in the GL 11+ Gloucestershire Test. The course takes place over five mornings, with each morning lasting 2 1/2 hours. Every morning will be in two parts, divided by a short, 15- minute break.
Tackling a wide range of English, Maths, Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning questions, we promote an ethos of active learning where the focus is on how your child learns and not just what they learn. The course also includes a booklet of optional extension activities for your child to carry out independently or with their family following each session, helping students to further consolidate their understanding of the 11+ topics. We will also be looking at exam strategies and how to use the time available effectively.
We understand that some children worry about giving the wrong answers so our tutors will use the chat function on Zoom®, to check your child's understanding and reinforce concepts where helpful. Children are also free to ask questions as we go along. Tickets are limited to keep a low pupil:tutor ratio and also allows lessons to focus on quality; allowing us to make pathway adjustments as they arise.
The course does not duplicate our Spring Short Course and may be taken consecutively.
