About Us

Founded in 2011, Cotswold Education is a business of experienced educators based in Gloucestershire. Our directors have extensive experience of the whole primary and secondary education system in Gloucestershire, including school application and school appeals. 

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a centre of educational excellence, inspiring students to become lifelong learners, critical thinkers and confident individuals able to make the most of life’s opportunities. We want to support children of all abilities and backgrounds to appreciate a love of learning and love creating new ways to learn together. We provide high quality education events and courses to support children and their parents/carers. We believe that all parents & carers should have access to high quality information and we run both free and paid for events.​​ We are very proud of the personal, friendly service we provide - so please contact us for a chat today if you need help with your child's education.

Dr Ian Todd

BSc (Hons), PGCert HE, PhD | Founder of Cotswold Education

Ian has worked in the education and research sector all his life. He is the founder of Cotswold Education and is a retired academic. He was Head of Biology at Bath Spa University for 14 years and previously Senior Lecturer at the University of Hertfordshire. He has extensive research experience at Oxford University and Cambridge University having obtained a PhD and BSc (Hons) from Cardiff University. Ian has also personally tutored for many years and his media appearances include BBC1 One Show and BBC Radio Gloucestershire.

Becky Richardson

BSc (Hons), PGCE, PGCert (NASENCO) | Director since Sept 2025

Becky qualified as a Secondary school Geography teacher before spending some time working in the IT industry.  After having her family, she returned to the education sector, working as a SENCO across a range of schools in Gloucestershire, supporting pupils of different ages.  She has over 10 years experience as a tutor, preparing pupils for the 11+ exam, as well as general primary school booster sessions.  Becky has a particular interest in supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), and those experiencing Social, Emotional or Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties.
